Project Gallery Four - Whites Gulch, Siskiyou County
This project commenced on July 13, 2009 and was completed on October 30, 2009 with tree planting achieved by spring 2010. Most of the work was done by the Siskiyou County bridge crew and in-house engineering staff. Funding for the project was provided by the US Bureau of Reclamation, the California Department of Fish and Game and Siskiyou County.

The goal of this project was to replace the existing culvert with a structure that would allow for full passage of adult and juvenile salmonids and the 100-year flood flows. This project restored access to approximately 3.5 miles of fish habitat, as well as potential spawning and rearing habitat for adult and juvenile Coho salmon and steelhead. This project also allowed passage of 100-year flows and prevents the potential delivery of sediment into the downstream reach of Whites Gulch and the North Fork Salmon River. For more information download the Whites Gulch Final Report.
