Project Gallery Three - Ryan Creek, Mendocino County
The purpose of the Ryan Creek Project is to provide full passage for all life stages of salmonids, eliminate potential sediment, improve storm capacity and restore natural channel flow. When completed, this project will eliminate the potential for 7,975 cubic yards of sediment, accommodate 100-year flows and restore access to 3 miles of spawning and rearing habitat.

The first portion of the project represents a six-year coordinated effort of the Mendocino County Department of Transportation, the Coastal Conservancy, the California Department of Fish and Game, the NOAA Restoration Center and the 5C Program.

Future upstream projects include replacing or modifying the culverts at the crossings of State Highway 101 on North Fork Ryan Creek and mainstem Ryan Creek and replacing or decommissioning a private driveway crossing on the mainstem. The entire project is expected to be completed in the next two or three years.
